Research challenges

As far as my research project, I am having a hard time narrowing down my search. I am also struggling as to what directly to search under and what is the main research question that I am trying to get to for the project due at the end of the semester. I am continuing to search, but am just confused!!

  1. Hi Lanisha,

I guess the first thing to be done is to construct your question. Although your ultimate goal is to find out how to recruit more members to Campus Crusade for Christ, you won't know how to go about that until you have done some background research on the successes and failures of other religious groups who have attempted to get more members.

Also, you have the added challenge of finding out the flip side of the equation--what is the target population's relationship with religion (or Christianity in particular)--and how their relationship with religion, as well as their perceptions and potential misconceptions, will affect their interest and motivation for becoming a member of a religious organization.

Your research question will need to address both of these issues.

Try to construct a few different variations of this research question that address these two concepts--success and failure of religious organizations in reaching members of a particular group, and the relationship/viewpoint/potential misconceptions that the group might have about religious organizations. Over the weekend, run a few of these by me via email and we will go from there!
